The 2011 UIC Inventor and Researcher of the Year Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 8th from 4:00 - 6:00PM in the Chicago Rooms, UIC Student Center West at 828 South Wolcott Avenue. 

Please join us in helping to celebrate and honor the 2011 Awardees for their outstanding achievements and dedication to making UIC one of the nation's leading institutions for research and innovation.  The OTM would like to heartily thank all the members of the UIC community who submitted nominations for the 2011 UIC Inventor the Year Award and we are proud to say that the spirit of discovery and innovation is alive and well on the UIC campus!

About the 2011 UIC Inventor of the Year Award

The Inventor of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding faculty member from UIC that has engaged with the OTM in the technology transfer process.  The awardee is recognized for their innovative spirit and their invention’s potential impact and value to both their respective field and to society.  The 2011 UIC Inventor of the Year will join a distinguished list of past faculty winners who have exemplified UIC’s commitment to research, creativity and technological development.

Commemorative Award and Prize

The 2011 Inventor of the Year honoree will receive a one-time $3500 prize and a commemorative award, which will be presented to them at an Award Ceremony to be held in partnership with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research’s 2011 UIC Researcher of the Year Award, on February 8th, 2012. In addition, the name of the 2011 honoree will be added to a distinguished group of recipients of this award on the Inventor of the Year Award Recipients’ plaque which is prominently displayed in the hallway of the UIC Office of Technology Management.
