CTP Research Center
About the Research Center
Founded in 1985, the Research Center is a 56,000 square foot state-run incubator facility. It is currently home to approximately 30 successful biotech firms, which have their origins in the IMD’s major medical centers and regional institutions of higher education. For more than two decades the CTP Research Center has been home to spinouts from the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Illinois, Argonne National Labs, and other major research institutions. Notable graduate companies include Amgen, MediChem Life Sciences, United Therapeutics, and Litholink.
Firms located in the CTP Research Center have taken advantage of the infrastructure and custom-designed business support services provided to them in an effort to help them grow and further develop into successful standalone businesses. In addition, the Research Center also creates a collaborative environment to help start-up firms apply for government funding and attract venture capitalists to support their business development.
The CTP Research Center offers three sizes of lab space to meet the needs of early-stage life science companies:

The Chicago Technology Park Research Center is located inside the Illinois Medical District, 2 miles west of downtown Chicago, just south of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290).
Exit at Damen Avenue and proceed southbound. At Harrison Street (the Core Center is on Northwest corner), turn right and proceed westbound 2 blocks to the first stop sign. At the intersection with Leavitt, turn left heading southbound to Campbell Park Drive. Make a right-hand turn onto Campbell Park Drive. Street parking is available in front of the CTP Research Center.
