Patents help attract investor financing, can increase your startup’s leverage with strategic partners and may deter lawsuits. However, in order to secure a patent you must invest an enormous amount of time, money and expertise to prepare a patent application and nurture it through the examination process at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This workshop will help you understand the basics of the U.S. patent system and how to navigate the entire process of securing a patent.

Join this workshop to:

  • Gain a general understanding of the patenting process
  • Identify factors that prolong the patenting process and drive up costs
  • Learn how to avoid obstacles when you apply for a patent

Can't attend in person? Join us in our virtual classroom. To join this workshop virtually via Webex, select the "Virtual classroom" ticket type at checkout - access instructions will be included in your email receipt.
