The Office of Technology Management (OTM) is seeking two (2) senior undergraduate students interested in marketing to be our Chicoine Scholar Intern for the Spring 2023 term. The Chicoine Scholar Internship is funded in part by the David L. and Marcia K. Chicoine Science and Technology-based Economic Development Scholarships.

The purpose of the Chicoine Scholarship Internship is to expose students to the activities required to move technologies from the university lab bench to the commercial shelf. The focus of this year’s internship will be on creating a marketing and branding strategy for Office of Technology Management(OTM)’s Diabetes Empowerment Education Program™ (DEEP™).

Duties and Responsibilities: Project will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with UIC Office of Market and Brand Management to create a new DEEP™ logo
  • Creating DEEP™ branding and marketing standards
  • Create secondary party standards for branding DEEP™
  • Develop marketing materials, such as printable fliers, presentations, posters, blast email templates, facilitation emails, etc.
  • Develop a “Program Ambassador” program
    • Create standardized program language for Ambassador use
    • Create templates for reaching out to prospective organizations
  • Research conferences that DEEP™ could become a vendor/hold a booth at
  • Research email marketing list renting

 

Commitment is 10/hours a week during the school year. The scholarship amount is $2,500 per student for the semester.
