About
Kateri Castillo Nelis joined the University of Illinois Chicago Office of Technology Management as a Visiting Technology Transfer Coordinator in September 2021. She is responsible for managing the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program™ (DEEP™) and for providing public health and non-profit management expertise for other high-impact social programs in OTM.
Prior to joining UIC, Kateri worked at the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics and has over 12 years’ experience working in public health education and promotion, program management, quality improvement and partnership development. She has extensive experience in non-profit and public health programming and non-profit management.
She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Northwestern University, a Master of Science degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa
