About
Marty joined the University of Illinois-Chicago Office of Technology Management in January 2023, and is responsible for managing a portfolio of technologies in the physical sciences. She has twenty years of experience in start-ups, technology commercialization and management. Marty worked for the Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation (CTTEC) at Carnegie Mellon. At CTTEC, Marty evaluated university inventions for commercialization, negotiated licenses and provided business guidance for faculty and students. She worked for a Carnegie Mellon spin-off company Pittsburgh Pattern Recognition that was acquired by Google in 2011. Earlier in her career, Marty held roles in business development for Intel and test engineering for Manugistics, a supply chain management company. She and her family lived overseas in Singapore and Stockholm, Sweden. Marty has a BS in Management Science from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon.
